I’ve been reading about some pretty fancy sounding stuff going on in the world of skincare recently. It’s all really scientific – the sort of chat that makes me wish I’d stuck at Physics GSCE. Then I might be in a position to say either “That’s impossible” or indeed “Holy crap, that’s amazing”. Continue reading…

It’s time to tell you about another lovely offer that I think you should jolly well take advantage of. This one is really good, and it comes from my current brand-crush, Aromatherapy Associates. I know, I’ve been going on about them almost as much as I go on about Elemis but it’s for your own good. Continue reading…

Do you remember a few weeks ago I reviewed the Scholl HydraStep? It was exciting, wasn’t it? I bet you wrote about it in your diary. And if you didn’t, you might have a few emotional lines to commit to history about today. Because it’s time for another competition. And this time, I’m giving away something really flipping fancy.

It’s not just a prize, it’s a goodie bag. A Dr Scholl goodie bag, to be precise. And unbelievably, it contains a pair of the aforementioned foot-softening flip-flops (which are pink, in a size 6/6.5 and normally retail at £24.99). It also contains the following Dr Scholl products: Continue reading…

The other day I saw a pile of thin, fluorescent and black rubber bracelets by the bathroom sink and thought I had been transported back in time. But no, they belong to my increasingly fashion-conscious stepdaughter. And the scary thing is, ‘Into The Groove’ is as long ago to her as ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ was to me when my parents wittered on about that.

She’s still a bit too young for the make-up side of the current ‘80s revival’ – and I thought I was maybe too old until I realised that it’s not about copying the look directly from Working Girl. Oh no. For the ‘youngsters’, it’s about giving it a very modern, punky edge. For the rest of us, who don’t want to be openly derided on arrival at the office in the morning, it’s about experimenting with a bit more colour then usual. There, that wasn’t so scary, was it? Surely, not another new feature for Product Placement? Anyone would think people actually read this. Well, it turns out that a handful actually do, which not only amazes me on a daily basis but also prompts me to say thank you very much, and without sounding needy, keep reading/subscribe/tell your friends etc etc.

Anyway, because these days I get sent quite a lot of information from beauty related folk, I thought it would be rather nice for me to start giving a little back, in the shape of any offers and deals that I hear about. I don’t profess to be some kind of industry insider (I leave that to the likes of the lovely British Beauty Blogger – if you haven’t subscribed to her then you should jolly well go and do it now.) This new feature is more a way of telling you about anything good that I happen to hear about, and possibly doing another competition or two at some point soon. Hope you like it. Now down to business. Continue reading…
