A man for all seasons

It will come as no surprise whatsoever to those who know me that I like a man with a beard. To me, it suggests a degree of nonchalance towards personal grooming that is rather appealing. Don’t get me wrong – I say nonchalance, not neglect. I like to think of bearded men as having more important, masculine and possibly quite creative things to do other than scrape stubble off their faces of a morning. Like taking the rubbish out. The rough and the smooth

I literally have men queuing up. Not, however, to experience the considerable charms of Mrs PP. And besides, I’m a married woman. No, they are just dying to contribute to the burgeoning ‘Men’s Grooming’ section of this, your favourite blog. This week’s guest post comes from a certain Andrew Tibbs: friend, fellow blogger (check him out at andrewtibbs.com) and men’s product aficionado. Some men do it as soon as they wake, others prefer last thing at night. And then there are those who do it throughout the day. There are even some men who don’t do it at all, or at least that’s what they say… I’m the former, preferring to do it first thing, once the morning ablutions are complete. Of course, moisturising isn’t for everyone. Some blokes are lucky enough to have perfect skin, teeth and hair, and need do nothing to any of it, continuing to look perfect, even in death. Feel the rush

I like to mix it up a bit. And with that in mind, this week sees an exciting new departure aimed at my male readers (yes, both of you). Brought to you by my dear friend – and now guest editor – Lee, and flown in by private jet from the southern hemisphere, I am proud to introduce my first bloke’s post. And if you’re not male, show your other half – he might learn something.

Living in Australia comes with certain benefits. The excellent weather, the sunshine… you get the picture. However, with this glorious lifestyle can come a sizeable downside. A warm climate dictates everyone has a liability to sweat. Me in particular. The simplest of tasks, like strolling to the shop for a loaf of bread generally results in a full change of clothing.
